Context — CoPlace began when I was given a problem to solve as a Product Design (UX) Project, which was 'uncertainty.' This uncertainty came from users who wanted to visit but were not sure if the facilities, menu, or atmosphere provided would meet their needs. It was not only felt by users. This 'uncertainty' was also experienced by some users who felt uncertain about the availability of locations in providing facilities at certain times.
Problem — After the process of searching for locations was further explored by interviewing 4 people whose scope was men/women aged 15-30 years old living in Indonesia and have occasionally (often/rarely) engaged in gathering/meeting activities in external places, it turned out that besides 'uncertainty,' there were other problems that frequently occurred during the location search process, such as an atmosphere or conditions that were not suitable at certain times, locations that were quite far and the lack of reference to the nearest location, menus that were not complete or satisfying, occasional miscommunication in reservations or information delivery, and so on.
Challenge — Based on the insights obtained, the challenge was to find a way for someone to easily and efficiently search, determine, and make reservations.
Solution — The insights and challenges obtained earlier made it clear how to solve these problems, so the chosen and executed solution was the creation of an application that simplifies and clarifies the user's process of finding a location. This solution was chosen because with this one solution alone (without specific features), it solves the problem with high value & frequency criteria.
Product — The operation of this application is similar to other Google Maps/Search applications that also solve similar problems, such as TripAdvisor, Zomato, and Pergi Kuliner. Thus, these 3 companies became the main references when executing CoPlace.
